THE EXPERIENCE

Lavvo camp with activities, local food and optional overnight stays.

Bring your group to a lavvo camp near Gausta for a day of activities, or extend the experience with an overnight stay. One or two large lavvos and fire pits provide a gathering place with local food, drinks and a programme you choose.

Choose archery, axe throwing, crafts and ice fishing, or combine camp with a snowshoe walk. Activities, food, duration and any overnight stay are agreed around your participant numbers and wishes. You receive a proposal with a programme and price before booking.

WILDERNESS CAMP

Choose your camp activities

Combine the activities you want to try with good food and time around the fire. The selection and programme are adapted to your group, camp location and local conditions.

Archery

Test your aim with a bow and arrow. Get guidance and challenge each other at the targets.

Axe throwing

Try axe throwing at a target, with guidance and a challenge for your group.

Local food & drinks

Gather around the fire for local food and drinks. The menu and serving arrangements are tailored to your wishes.

Crafts

Try wood whittling and practical work with wood. We adapt the craft activities to your group and time available.

Ice fishing

Combine camp with ice fishing on a suitable lake when local ice conditions allow. Location and arrangements are agreed in advance.

Snowshoeing

Make the walk into camp part of the experience, or combine your stay with a guided snowshoe trip.

DAY CAMP

Activities, food and time around the fire

Visit for a day or a few hours. We put together your chosen activities, local food and time in the lavvo. Duration and timing are agreed with you.

OVERNIGHT CAMP

Bring your group for a longer stay

Continue the camp experience into the evening and stay overnight. We agree the camp location, sleeping arrangements, meals, equipment and facilities as part of your proposal.

Camp location and access

Walk into camp with a small group

For up to 15 guests, the journey can begin on snowshoes, with a temporary Wilderness Camp as the destination. The route, camp and toilet arrangements are planned together.

Easier access for larger groups

For larger groups, we look for a site closer to suitable facilities. A camp near the hotel depends on an agreement with Gausta; the location is confirmed as part of your proposal.

We set up the camp for your group and remove it completely after your stay. We leave no trace: equipment, waste and fire residue are all carried out.

Practical information

How is the price calculated?

You receive a proposal based on participant numbers, chosen activities, food, duration and any overnight stay. We confirm what is included before you book.

Which activities can we choose?

Choose archery, axe throwing, local food and drinks, crafts and ice fishing. Camp can also be combined with snowshoeing. The programme is adapted to your group, camp location and local conditions.

Can we stay overnight?

Yes. Groups can book an overnight camp by agreement. The camp location, sleeping arrangements, equipment, meals and facilities are confirmed in your proposal.

Where do we meet?

We agree the camp location, meeting point and access with your group. For smaller groups, a snowshoe walk into camp can be part of the programme. Larger groups need easier access and suitable facilities.

What should we bring?

Bring warm layers, windproof outerwear, winter footwear, gloves and a hat. We confirm personal equipment and any sleeping gear needed for your chosen activities and stay.

How do toilets work?

Toilet arrangements are confirmed as part of choosing the camp location and length of stay. For groups walking into camp, these are planned with the camp. Larger groups need a location near suitable facilities, by agreement.

Is ice fishing available in any weather?

Ice fishing depends on local ice and weather conditions and a suitable lake. We agree arrangements and any alternatives while planning your programme.
